our three coutries have in common is the "Smart"
car production in Hambach(France). Citizens from France, Luxembourg and Germany found a
working place there. Since already serveral years, a lot of
employed persons of our region must cross a "border" on their daily way from
home to work and back.
Another successful example for the border-crossing cooperation
is the "EURO-Zone" in
Saarbrücken(Germany) and Forbach(France). The use of synergy effects is cobnsidered to
make a stronger economical expansion possible.
Shopping in Saar-Lor-Lux is also something very special: On holidays
in France, French people go shopping in germany and Germans do it the other way round.
Luxembourg is very popular mostly because of the lower prices for fuel, cigaretts and
drinks.
