Since May 1995 the trade corporations (HWK) Saarbrücken, Trier, Luxemburg, Metz and Nancy cooperate. Together they
form the Saar-Lor-Lux
Umweltzentrum des Handwerks,
which consists of five decentralized and independent companies.
The Saar-Lor-Lux Umweltzentrum Saarbrücken has been transfered to a
privatly owned company in 1998.The HWK of the Saarland and 25 guilds are interested in that
company.
The tasks of the Umweltzentrum are:
- To advise craftsmen businesses and other
businesses on problems concerning the environment
- European research projects
- Training in current environmental matters
- To inform customers, craftsmen and puplic
institutions and make them aware of environmental matters
- To represent the intrests of the
craftsmen´s trade in matters concerning the environment
The services of the Umweltzentrum are:
- Corporate environment protection
- Company-environment-check
- Continuous advice on environmental matters
- To build up management-systems for handling environmental
problems
