HISTORY

The formation of Azahel's Fortress goes back to 2003, when Azahel started his own solo project beside his other bands (Ewig Frost, Alastor, Sanguis,…). While in the beginning the band was concentrating on the recording of demo tapes and only a few concerts occasionally, Azahel's Fortress developed itself more and more to one of the big ones in the austrian black metal scene.

The breakthrough they had with the CD "The Chaos Kingdom", which was released in 2010 by the label Bloodred Horizon Records. With this album Azahel's Fortress managed to unleash a masterpiece of energetic and intense Black Metal, varying between a cold Scandinavian style with hell-paced melodic riff cascades and groove-oriented Rock influences with neck-breaking Thrash Metal parts in between. Above all that, an aura of long forgotten Pagan times is floating and carries the listener into the deep woods of the Bohemian mountains.

The constant growing of the line up enabled the band to perform on several big concerts/festivals. After some changes in the formation, Azahel's Fortress now has the strongest line up ever and is ready to take the big stages in Europe.
