I am coding on an eDonkey2000 tool that supports you to run a server console under Windows 2000/XP.The ServerMaker helps you to configure your server settings with an easy configuration window and checks your entries.Your server will always be online : The SM reconnects to your ISP, it does not matter if you have a dynamic IP and/or where kicked after a periode of time (for example every 24h). It will detect your IP and change the neccesarry entries. The ServerMaker can handle a direct connection like DSL or NAT's if you are behind a router. But do not think my tool makes an one-click-and-go server. Ok finally it does :-) but you have to set up the right configuration. And therefor you have to inform yourself for what it means to run a server, how the server works and how to configure your system. For example firewall rules, how many users could my server handle, network configs like mapped ports and so on... Finally when you
know what you do ;-) the ServerMaker takes the rest of your work and you can
enjoy an easy server administration. You can find a great server description
on TheDonkeyNetwork
! All you need to know ! Thanx for you interrest to run a server and to support
the eDonkey network ! |
